The Celestron Handheld Digital Microscope 44302 is an innovative microscope that allows you to view specimens or objects on a computer screen and allows you to take snapshot images or short videos. This digital microscope by Celestron is a great product for teens as well as *****s for education, discovery, work and fun. The Celestron Microscope is ideally suited for examining objects such as coins, stamps, rocks, relics, insects, plants, gems, circuit boards, various materials, skin, and many other objects. Also, you can examine specimen slides at low and high powers.

The Celestron Handheld Digital Microscope can be used for virtually anything that traditional microscopes are used for: Hobbyists, Educators, Medical Labs, Industrial Inspection, Engineering Applications, Teachers, Students, Science Applications, Doctor's Offices, Police Agencies, Government Testing, and general use by consumers.

The microscope provides powers from 10x to 40x and 150x (powers with a 19" monitor). Built inside these celestron digital microscopes is a 1.3MP CMOS Digital Camera for taking videos and snapshots, and an LED Illuminator for viewing slides in detail.

A rugged, metal stand is included for holding the microscope steady at various positions for viewing and/or imaging. Also included is computer software, for observing the magnified images or capturing video or taking snapshots with Microsoft Windows XP and Vista operating systems. You can also use the microscope with other image capture software that you may have on Windows XP & Vista. If you are using a MAC, you can take videos and snapshots but you need image/photo capture software for MAC. You will also need a CD/DVD drive as well as an open USB port.
