A permanent positive charge applied to the slide surface allows slides to hold tissue sections without the need for expensive or time-consuming preparatory steps in the laboratory. This treatment virtually eliminates tissue loss during staining and electrostatically attracts frozen tissue sections and cytology preparations, binding them to the slide.
