It is very thermally stable. It will not significantly dry out over time and has a maximum service temperature of 200 deg C (392 deg F). It is non-conductive, so shorts are not a concern, yet it goes on so thin it does not significantly inhibit electrical connections. As well, the dry lubrication makes it better for dusty environments than mineral oil alternatives.
